Donny van de Beek is yet to start a Premier League match since he sealed his £40 million move from Ajax, but the Dutchman could yet get his chance, after showing fine work for his country during the international break.
Not only did 23 year old get a goal to save his side’s blushes in their 1-1 draw against Italy, he was an influential player overall.
According to @StatmanDave on Twitter, van de Beek had a 100% tackle success rate, while managing to complete 80% of the passes attempted.
The midfielder also made 6 ball recoveries, and 3 timely interceptions to cap off a great performance. His link up play was also good, and it could be enough to see him make his first Premier League start for the Red Devils.
Of course, Paul Pogba has made headlines with his eye-catching pass in France’s big win too, and is a contender for a start, but it will be interesting to see what decision Solskjaer makes.
Either ways, van de Beek has been consistent since signing, and one could be right to say he does deserve a first start.
