Manchester United boss, Olé Gunnar Solskjaer, has blamed French media for the recent comments Paul Pogba made about Real Madrid.

The Frenchman reignited talk about his interest in leaving Old Trafford to join Real Madrid recently, after claiming while on international duty that it’d be a ‘dream come true’ to play for the Spanish champions.

The comments have sparked outrage from a section of pundits and fans who believe the midfielder was out of line with his comments.

But when asked to share his thoughts about it recently, Solskjaer didn’t have anything negative to say about the World Cup winner, and instead, blamed the French media for asking him the type of questions they threw at him.

Solskjaer is quoted by Manchester Evening News as saying, “When players are away on internationals they might be affected by the questions.

“Or it’s the French connection there with Zidane, I think that’s the angle the French media had.

He then added, “Paul has responded as he has. He has two years in his contract here, I’m sure we’ll get the best out of him. We’re still working to get the best out of him here.”

Recent reports confirm that United have triggered the ‘extra year’ option in Pogba’s contract, so there shouldn’t be cause for alarm just yet about Pogba’s future at the club.
