Thomas Tuchel registered his first win in charge of Chelsea as goals from Cesar Azpilicueta and the recalled Marcos Alonso helped his side see off Burnley 2-0.

Here is what Tuchel said about Timo Werner's poor form against Burnley.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel told BT Sport: “This gives us a boost. You always have to convince players with results.

“We controlled the match completely; we never lost awareness or focus. We fought and we were strong, we deserved to win.

“It should be a signal to our guys up front that we needed two defensive players to score.

We lack at the moment that last precision in the box. We will work on this. But in the end I cannot care less. We are happy to have the win."

[On Timo Werner’s form]: “We cannot expect a change from one minute to the other.

He’s not the only striker in the world who is sensitive when he does not score.

“No hugs can make up for this feeling [of scoring]. Maybe we need a stupid, silly deflection goal to make up for it. But as long as he has the work rate for the team he will push."
