According to the Daily Mirror, both men believe that Spain's head coach, Luis Enrique, should be named as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's replacement.

Ralf Rangnick was named as an interim manager, but his contract will expire in June 2022.

Although the Red Devils favor Erik ten Hag, and conversations with the Ajax manager are ongoing, Ronaldo has long chosen Enrique.

Enrique was a teammate of Ronaldinho at Barcelona during the 2003/2004 season, allowing him to get close to one of the Red Devils' four-man shortlist.

However, During the international break, Enrique responded to the rumors by saying, "I will be in Qatar with Spain because I have given my word, and nothing excites me more than representing my country at the World Cup; subsequently, we'll see."
