Rio Ferdinand ‘does not understand’ Man Utd stars ‘hugging’ their rivals.
Rio Ferdinand admits he ‘does not understand’ Manchester United players ‘hugging’ their Manchester City rivals and has questioned why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not stamped it out.
Former Red Devils captain Roy Keane blasted the United players for ‘hugging’ their City counterparts following Saturday’s Manchester derby.
The Premier League fixture failed to live up to the hype and ended goalless as both teams failed to climb up the table.
Keane said on Sky Sports: ‘At the end of the game with the staff smiling and hugging, the players chatting ? just get down the tunnel.
Everyone wants to be pals with each other. You are playing for these clubs, particularly Man Utd, win football matches not to be mates with everybody.’
Former Manchester United and England defender Ferdinand also took issue with the scenes at full-time and says it was something he never would have done after a derby game.
He told the FIVE YouTube channel: ?Boring Manchester derby.
Normally there?s pushing and shoving, normally there?s some needle in the game, some goals.
This was just a 0-0 borefest, and at the end hugs all around.
