According to reports, Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, and have put him on our transfer shortlist.
Valverde, 22, has forced his way into the Los Blancos star-studded team with superb performnaces.
The club view the Uruguayan as a possible swap deal option if Real Madrid decide to come for Pogba.
Valverde has a £640m buyout clause, which shows how much Real value him.
Meanwhile, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed the club triggered the one-year extension in Frenchman’s contract in a bid to fend off interests in him.
His deal was up at the end of this season with no announcement that the club had taken up the opportunity to extend it by a further year.
Solskjaer said: “Paul’s our player, he’s going to be here for another two years and sure he’s focused on doing his best for us and we want to see the best from Paul and I’m sure in the next couple of years we’ll get the best out of him.”
