Manchester United legend Patrice Evra named defender Victor Lindelof as Manchester United’s best player in the goalless draw against Chelsea on Saturday.
“Of course it was a boring game,” Evra told Sky Sports. “I didn’t see seven good passes in a row.
“The players were playing with a safety jacket on and I don’t like that. I want entertainment. I want players to play without fear.
“The best player for Chelsea was Thiago Silva and the best player for Manchester United was Victor Lindelof. It wasn’t enough from both teams.
“[Chelsea goalkeeper] Mendy had a great game too but I think Thiago Silva was the boss in the defence.
“Mendy made some good saves but I’m not surprised with a draw. They were both too cautious.”
However, it wasn’t to be after a late Marcus Rashford curled effort was met by a flying save from Chelsea’s new number-one Edouard Mendy.
peaking after tonight’s game, United manager Solskjaer was quick to suggest that if there were fans inside Old Trafford his side may have been able to ‘get the ball over the line’ but did admit that he felt his side were closest to taking all three-points.
