Even at 34 years, Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the best players in the world.

Ironically, even though his current performance is not top-notch compared to when he was younger, he is still far better, creative, and in a better form than most young players of nowadays.

There is this argument, that the world might never get to see a player of Ronaldo's quality ever again, well, while we all know that Ronaldo has been a fantastic player for more than a decade and counting, we should leave the future to tell it's story.

Ronaldo has scored an almost uncountable number of great goals which literally stunned the world, but In this article.

I am going to share with you three times Ronaldo saved his team with a world-class goal that was unexpected. Enjoy:

1. 2012 title Race with Barcelona: Real Madrid was locked in a tight game with Rayo Vallecano, one which was very crucial in determining if they would be crowned the champions of Spanish football for that year.

The game was tight, and no goals were forthcoming from a Real Madrid team that had already scored a total of 121 goals in the campaign. In the second half of that game, Ronaldo scored a world class and unexpected goal from a cross with his back heel.

Ordinarily, everyone, myself included thought the cross was a wasted one, but Ronaldo stepped in and scored an unexpected goal with his back heel. That game ended one goal to nil in favor of Real Madrid.

2. Manchester united champions league semi-finals against FC Porto in 2009.

He was playing against his former club at that time, and the game wasn't easy at all.

The two teams had played a 2-2 draw in the first leg at Manchester united, and the chances of Manchester united making it to the finals was looking slim as.

However, in the second leg of the game against Porto FC in Portugal, Ronald stepped and scored an unexpected goal far away from outside the penalty box (about 40 yards away) with a deep shot that looked impossible while he was aiming for the post, but the ball rocketed into the goal post.

It was an unexpected goal as no one was expecting him to try a shot from that distance.
